What is ISO 14001?

The UNI EN ISO 14001 standard  , as well as other supporting standards, defines the requirements of an “ Environmental Management System ” that can be implemented in any type of organization.

Achieving ISO 14001 environmental certification  also contributes to significantly reducing the Organization’s liability towards environmental legislation, allowing it to certify the proactive commitment made by the Organization aimed at promoting practices aimed at achieving virtuous objectives in terms of environmental performance.

Possession of an Environmental Management System certification is recognized, in the public sector, as a qualifying element for the release of authorizations, recognitions and notifications and for obtaining tax breaks; it also increasingly constitutes a prerequisite for participation in tenders and public procurement procedures.

The certification process The certification process according to the ISO 14001 standard includes:

  • the request for quotation
  • acceptance of the offer
  • carrying out a pre-assessment audit (optional)
  • carrying out a Certification audit (divided into two stages)
  • the management of any deficiencies found
  • the certification resolution
  • maintenance checks with annual frequency
